Hey Grownups! Let's Get Our Acts Together

As parents demand schools reopen and educators acknowledge disparities in learning experiences that are failing our most vulnerable students, adults are going to bars and gyms as well as partying like it's 1999. As individualized and self-centered as our society has enabled or empowered us to be, we forget the fact that with freedom comes responsibility.

Other nations, states, and municipalities are in better shape than we are here in San Diego largely because they have managed to convince their citizenry to behave responsibly and think beyond what is convenient or comfortable for them as an individual.

Pandemics are not supposed to be "fun". I love socializing as much as the next person, but I have limited my interaction and engagement out of consideration for people in my home as well as the general public. If you don't have friends or family that you are willing to be inconvenienced for, think of the children.
